Galen Bingham
Whiskey, Jazz & LeadershipAcross two conversations, Steve and Galen explore leadership identity, mission alignment, authenticity, and why leaders must stay connected to the purpose beneath the work they lead.
Crafted Clarity began as a place to explore the tension between what we've built and what we're built for. Today, those questions are finding their way into other conversations, new relationships, and rooms where leaders are asking what comes next.
When other hosts invite these ideas into their own conversations, the questions reach people who may be encountering them for the first time. Explore where the conversation has traveled.
Across two conversations, Steve and Galen explore leadership identity, mission alignment, authenticity, and why leaders must stay connected to the purpose beneath the work they lead.
Steve joins Toni Will for a conversation about identity, leadership, and the questions that emerge when what we’ve built begins to intersect with who we are becoming.
Steve joins Jeremy C. Park to discuss the transition from success to significance, the tension between what leaders have built and what they are built for, and why organizational mission must guide strategy. He also shares how shared stewardship helped a nonprofit’s board and executive leadership find greater alignment.
Steve joins Enid and Mark to explore the changing seasons of life and the questions that emerge when what we’ve built no longer fully reflects what we’re built for.
The clearest evidence often comes from people who've listened, participated, or taken the conversation into their own lives and work.
There is such an ease that I experience when I talk with you, that same ease I get when I listen to your podcast episodes.Galen BinghamHost, Whiskey, Jazz & LeadershipFrom Galen's closing remarks during his conversation with Steve
But I also want to thank you for doing what you do with such transparency. There is such an ease that I experience when I talk with you, that same ease I get when I listen to your podcast episodes. I have not checked out your website, but I’m anticipating that this is just who you are.
And I just really respect the fact that you’re not afraid to be who you are in those spaces that might come with some criticism. And I appreciate the courage that comes along with doing that because this work that we do is not for the weak of heart. And you have to really have a passion for helping people in order to put yourself out there and allow your ideas and your concepts to be vetted. So I appreciate that.
I spend my days helping leaders tell their stories. It’s not often someone helps me hear my own.Katie RadelCrafted Clarity podcast guest
Steve has a rare gift. He listens for what’s underneath the answer.
I came into our conversation expecting to talk about my career. Instead, Steve noticed the threads I hadn’t fully connected myself: growing up above my family’s funeral home, two decades in communications, building Ripple, losing my mom, and the pull I keep feeling toward conversations about grief. He didn’t rush past any of it. He asked thoughtful questions, paid attention to the small details, and gave me room to think out loud.
I spend my days helping leaders tell their stories. It’s not often someone helps me hear my own.
I walked away a little more in tune with why I do what I do. The parts of my life that once felt separate started to look like they were building toward something all along. That gave me more clarity about my next path and more confidence to use the gifts I’ve been given.
Thank you, Steve, for creating a space where successful leaders can slow down long enough to notice what matters.
Not more answers to collect. Better conditions for noticing what matters — and the courage to lead from there.
